David is a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in providing individual treatment for anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, substance problems and recovery after multi trauma injuries. He has a very empathetic, warm nature and combines evidenced based therapies with an individualised approach, meeting a client at their point of need and collaboratively developing treatment goals and a treatment plan. David predominantly uses cognitive behavioural therapies, which focus on a person's thoughts, behaviours and emotions to assist them to make change.

David has been practising psychology for the past 19 years in a wide range of services including as a Senior Clinical Psychologist at the Department of Defence and NSW Health in a dual diagnosis inpatient setting with acute psychiatric disorders and substance use. He has also worked at the University of NSW and the University of Newcastle both as a psychologist and developing a unique online program for students to address mental health problems.

David has presented at several prestigious conferences on topics including; early identification of risk factors for mental health disorders, treating anger and PTSD and assessing suicide risk. He has also worked extensively training psychologists and providing ongoing clinical supervision to psychologists.
